Celebrate the 2027 Lunar Year of the Goat with this beautifully presented 50 cent Uncirculated Coin from the Royal Australian Mint’s Lunar Series.
The reverse features a detailed long-haired goat standing amongst rocky terrain, surrounded by sprays of Chinese sacred lily (Narcissus tazetta). Traditionally associated with good fortune around Lunar New Year, the flowers complement the flowing form of the goat and its horns. The Chinese character 羊 (yáng), meaning goat, also forms part of the design.
The Goat is the eighth animal of the Chinese zodiac, traditionally associated with qualities including creativity, compassion and gentleness. 2027 is specifically the Year of the Fire Goat, part of the traditional 60-year zodiac and elemental cycle.
Struck in the distinctive 14-sided tetradecagon shape, the coin is presented in an attractive red Royal Australian Mint presentation card featuring Lunar-inspired artwork and gold detailing.
Specifications: 2027 dated Australian 50 cents; Royal Australian Mint; uncirculated finish; copper-nickel composition; 15.37 g; 31.51 mm diameter; maximum mintage 50,000; original presentation card.
A striking and affordable addition to an Australian decimal collection, Royal Australian Mint Lunar collection or Chinese zodiac collection
