More Than a Coin Shop

Australian Numismatic Company was founded from a genuine love of collecting and a belief that numismatics should be accessible, interesting and enjoyable for everyone.

We're an independent Australian numismatic business specialising in Australian coins, banknotes and collectables — from pre-decimal currency and modern commemoratives through to graded coins, mint releases and pieces of genuine historical significance.

But ANC is about more than buying and selling coins.

Collect. Learn. Discover.

Every coin has a story.

It might tell us something about Australia's history, commemorate an event or person, represent a change in our currency, or simply remind someone of the excitement of finding their first unusual coin in their change.

We want to help preserve those stories while making the hobby easier to understand.

There's an extraordinary amount of misinformation surrounding coins and their values, particularly online. Part of our purpose is to provide collectors with straightforward information, realistic expectations and the knowledge to make informed decisions about their collections.

Whether you're an experienced numismatist or you've just discovered an interesting coin and want to know more about it, you're welcome here.

Buying & Selling With Confidence

We buy and sell Australian coins, banknotes, mint products and other numismatic material, ranging from individual pieces through to complete collections and estates.

We believe people deserve to be treated fairly regardless of how much they know about what they have.

If you're considering selling a collection, we'll take the time to understand what you have and explain what we're looking at. There's no expectation that you need to be a coin expert before speaking with us.

Likewise, when purchasing from ANC, we aim to describe our products accurately and transparently so you can make an informed decision.

Building the Next Generation of Collectors

The future of numismatics depends on new people discovering the hobby.

ANC has a particular interest in education and introducing younger collectors to coins, currency and Australian history. As the business grows, we intend to develop educational resources, collecting guides and initiatives designed to make numismatics approachable for the next generation.

Because ultimately, a collection is more than the value written beside it.

It's history you can hold.
