Celebrate the 2027 Lunar Year of the Goat with this official two-coin uncirculated set from the Royal Australian Mint.
The eighth release in the Mint’s Lunar Series features two different $1 reverse designs. The first depicts the Goat, traditionally associated with creativity, compassion and gentleness, while the second features the Chinese lunar calendar wheel, with the Goat positioned at the top of the twelve-animal zodiac cycle.
At the centre of the lunar calendar design is the Chinese character 福 (Fu), representing good fortune, surrounded by cloud motifs traditionally associated with prosperity. The Goat design incorporates persimmons, another symbol of good luck and prosperity.
Both coins feature the Daniel Thorne effigy of King Charles III on the obverse and are struck in aluminium bronze. The set is presented in the Royal Australian Mint’s distinctive red and gold presentation card, inspired by traditional Chinese red packets.
